Sam's Story
Before we start, I will sit in my seat and put on my seatbelt. The seatbelt keeps me safe.
When the car moves, we will see things outside the window. The car ride can be fun and safe.
Sometimes, there might be loud noises, like honking or sirens. These sounds are normal.
There might be times when we stop in traffic. Stopping is a normal part of driving.
I might feel restless or frustrated during the ride. It is okay to feel this way.
If I start to feel upset, I can take deep breaths or look out the window to help me relax.
I can also listen to music or hold a favorite toy to feel calm during the ride.
When we arrive at our destination, I will wait until the car stops completely before taking off my seatbelt.
Car rides are a part of many trips, and they are safe and predictable. I can enjoy the ride with my family.
