Hi, I'm Emily! I am going trick or treating for Halloween. It is a special time to dress up and get candy.
First, I will put on my costume. It can be fun to dress up as a character I like.
I will go trick or treating with a safe adult. This could be my mom, dad, or another grown-up I trust.
When I go to a house, I will say 'Trick or treat!' This is how I ask for candy.
Sometimes, there will be decorations that make spooky sounds or look scary. They are just pretend.
If I feel overwhelmed or scared, I can tell my safe adult. We can take a break or go home.
After I say 'Trick or treat!' and get candy, I will say 'Thank you!' This shows good manners.
I will stay close to my safe adult and not run ahead. This helps keep me safe.
I can look at my candy, but I will wait to eat it until my safe adult checks it first.
Trick or treating can be fun! I can enjoy dressing up, getting candy, and being with my safe adult.
